Independence 48

Independence_waterline_boat_plans This is a design for a long-range, easily driven (and therefore economical) steel motor trawler-type boat, 48 feet (14.7 m) overall length, and based on an empirically evolved shrimp trawler design. This is a genuine, traditional, long keel, displacement type hull, not a speed boat pretending to be rugged.

The original vessel has been in continuous service for over six years and has made some long passages and done a lot of miles in all kinds of weather. It is a versatile boat, well suited to a variety of commercial or pleasure applications. This design is for liveaboard, cruising and distance voyaging.

The boat plans enable you to configure the Independence 48 for commercial applications, such as a sea angler or workboat.

Vergoyer 45

This is a tough, practical steel workboat. Its wide beam and forward wheelhouse give plenty of deck and hold space. The bulwarks and rails give a large safe working area. This design has much more deck and hold room than the Independence 48, but shares its easy driving, economical characteristics.
